My story
I feel like my whole life, the powers of the universe have been steering me to become a yoga teacher. At the age of 21 and at a total loss as to what direction my career should take, I ventured down to the local library and found a book on careers.
That day I decided I was going to allow fate to choose my destiny. I closed my eyes, flicked through the pages and when I opened them, my finger had landed on hypnotherapist.
I completed the course in 2002 and even though that career was short-lived, learning how to hypnotise people would become an invaluable tool, as even though at the time I didn’t realise it, hypnosis is simply a guided form of meditation.
In my early teenage years I had suffered badly with depression. I was overweight, lacked confidence and had a really poor diet. After joining a gym at 17 I understood the difference it could make to someone’s mental and physical health to take control of their diet and training.
Knowing that I still wanted a career helping others, I decided to put my love of exercise to work and qualified as a personal trainer. My passion for understanding how the human body works and teaching physical movement to others was so rewarding. This job gave me the skills to actually teach people and show them how to safely move their bodies.
Even though I absolutely loved what I was doing, I still felt like I needed to do something more. I woke up one day in 2018 and decided out of nowhere, I was to become a yoga teacher.
Even though I had almost no experience and had extremely poor levels of flexibility from my years of weight training, something inside me felt sure that this was the path meant for me.

I qualified as a Sivananda yoga teacher in 2019. The skills I had learnt from the Hypnotherapy and personal training all fell into place. I am so fortunate that my work is my passion and being able to share the beauty of yoga with others is a privilege.
I continued to study qualifying in 200hr Vinyasa YTT and somatic movement, sound healing, 300hr Ashtanga Vinyasa YTT and finally 100hr Yin, totalling 800hr of Yoga teacher training. My personal journey through mental and physical challenges has fuelled my determination to share the transformative tools I’ve acquired with people of all ages and fitness levels. I firmly believe that yoga is a practice for everyone, and I’m committed to making it accessible to as many individuals as possible.
Yoga is something that should be shared by the world and I am blessed to be a teacher.
